Oldest Record in the Book: Keilers Holds Them All

This is the 16th and final story in a series about the oldest records at Harding University. Today's record is from the volleyball program, which began at Harding in 1983. Unfortunately, single-match records from Harding volleyball are not available until the Lady Bisons joined the NCAA in 1997.

The oldest women's volleyball record still on the book comes from that 1997 season and came in a loss to Southern Arkansas on Sept. 16.

In that match, Delana Keilers, a 6-foot-1 freshman middle blocker from Pasadena, Texas, had 19 total blocks (nine solo and 10 assisted). Still the oldest record in the book.

That season, Keilers had 177 total blocks, good for sixth all-time at Harding. Two seasons later, Keilers set the Harding single-season mark with 239 blocks. She holds four of Harding's top six single-season block marks and is the career leader at 781. Zoe Hardin is second at 650.

Harding's 43 blocks in the Southern Arkansas match also set the oldest team record in the books.
