Harding Men's Tennis Falls to Drury, Defeats Missouri Valley

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Harding men's tennis lost to NCAA Division II nationally ranked Drury Friday and defeated NAIA Missouri Valley Saturday in matches played at Cooper Tennis Complex.

Harding men's tennis (7-1) suffered its first loss of the season 5-2 to 20th-ranked Drury. Harding won the doubles point with a 7-5 victory by Alvaro de Lorenzo and Morgan Salvan at No. 1 and a 6-3 win by Arthur Bellan and Dani Ortiz at No. 2.

Harding's lone singles point came from Morgan Salvan, who won 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3. With the win, Salvan remained undefeated at 6-0 in singles matches this season. 

Harding swept doubles against Missouri Valley to take the match's first point.

Singles victories came from Dani Ortiz (No. 2) and Morgan Salvan (No. 3) before Alvaro de Lorenzo clinched the match at No. 5. Salvan moved to 7-0 in singles action.

Harding's next match is its home opener Friday, Feb. 21 against Blue Mountain College.
