Harding Women's Tennis Wins Twice Friday at Home

SEARCY – Harding women's tennis won its first two home matches of the season Friday with a 6-1 victory over NAIA Blue Mountain College and a 7-0 shutout of Tarleton State of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference.

Harding (5-5) swept the doubles against Blue Mountain (1-1) and won five of six singles matches. Lindy, Allison and Emily Carpenter all won in straight sets and Rylie Cox Evans won 10-8 in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1.

Harding also won all three doubles matches against Tarleton State (3-3), and then won all five of the singles matches in straight sets. Tarleton only had five healthy players.

Evans won her second match of the season over a nationally ranked opponent, defeating 35th-ranked Alicia Barbaroux 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1. Hana Folse won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2.

Harding plays Saturday on the road against Arkansas-Fort Smith.
