Hindman Places Second in Pole Vault at Missouri Collegiate Challenge

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Harding men's indoor track and field had three athletes in competition Saturday at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, contested at the Missouri-Hearnes Field House. Junior Alex Hindman and freshman Ben Ferris finished in the top three in the pole vault, and senior Mitchell Kessler placed sixth in the weight throw. None of the three set season highs.

Hindman and Ferris both cleared 4.75 meters (15-07.00). Hindman finished second because he had three misses, and Ferris had four. Kessler's sixth throw was his best, landing at 17.45 meters (57-03.00).

Hindman's season-best clearance of 4.89 meters has him ranked 21st in Division II. Ferris's best height is 4.84 meters. He is tied for 29th. Kessler has a season-best weight throw of 18.53 meters to rank 22nd.

Harding has one more full-team indoor event, the Great American Conference Classic, on Feb. 28-29. The announcement of the indoor nationals field come Mar. 3.
