WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Harding sophomore Jordan West connected on three consecutive 3-pointers late in the second half to help the Bisons pull away and defeat Southwestern Oklahoma 78-66 Saturday in Great American Conference action at the Pioneer Event Center.
Harding won on the road in conference play for the first time this season and improved to 9-18 overall and 4-17 in the GAC. Southwestern Oklahoma lost its fourth straight and was eliminated from GAC Tournament contention.
West made a 3-pointer with 5:06 left to give Harding a 59-57 lead. His second put the Bisons ahead 62-57 with 4:27 left, and the final 3 gave Harding a 65-57 advantage with 3:53 remaining. Harding led the rest of the way.
Romio Harvey led Harding with 25 points, hitting 9 of 12 free throws. Tyler Hutchieson scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half, and West scored nine of his 12 in a 1 minute, 13 second stretch of the second half.
Damion Thornton led Southwestern with 25 points, and Bralyn James had 14.
Harding had 11 3-pointers to five for Southwestern Oklahoma.
Harding plays its final game of the season Saturday against Northwestern Oklahoma in Alva.
