Hanna Jones Homers Twice; Lady Bison Softball Sweeps Doubleheader

SEARCY  – Hanna Jones hit a three-run home run in the first game and a solo home run in the second game to lead the Harding softball team to a doubleheader sweep of East Central in Great American Conference action Friday at the HU Softball Field. Harding won 6-2 and 4-2.

Harding improves to 9-9 overall and 2-4 in the GAC.

East Central falls to 3-10 overall and 0-6 in the GAC.


Game One Key Innings (Harding 6, East Central 2)

-         T1 – Tatiana Bryant hit a single through the left side to score Megan Lesko from second for East Central. (Harding 0 , East Central 1)

-         B3 – Hanna Jones hit a three-run home run to left field that scored Hannah Garrett and Nicole Shano. (Harding 3, East Central 1)

-         T5 – East Central's Megan Lesko hit a sacrifice fly that scored Charley Avery. (Harding 3, East Central 2)

-         B5 – Hanna Jones hit a single through the left side to score Kendall Tramel for the first run. Amanda Fields hit a two-run single through the right side that scored Hanna Jones and Madison Fraley. (Harding 6, East Central 2)

 
Game One Key Statistics

-         Harding had 10 hits in the game. It was the third time this season the Lady Bisons have had 10 or more hits in a game.

-         Kendall Tramel went 3-for-3 at the plate. Hanna Jones and Briley Feringa each had two hits.

-         East Central at four hits. Kaytlyn Kizarr led the Tigers going 2-for-3.

-         Jenna Hipp got the win for Harding in four innings of work. She gave up two earned runs and had three strikeouts. Emma Dwyer got the save in three innings. It was her second of the season. She gave up one hit and had three strikeouts.

-         Carla Torres received the loss for East Central and falls to 0-3 on the season. She pitched four innings and gave up six earned runs.

-         T1 – Tatiana Bryant singled up the middle to scored Kaleigh Ham from second for East Central. (Harding 0, East Central 1)

-         B2 – Lindsey Duncan laid down a suicide squeeze that scored Madison Fraley. (Harding 1, East Central 1)

-         B3 – Hanna Jones led off the inning with a solo home run down the left field line. It was her third of the season (Harding 2, East Central 1)

-         B5 – Amanda Fields hit a RBI single up the middle that scored Allison Hyatt from second. Briley Feringa hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Hanna Jones. (Harding 4, East Central 1)

-         T6 – Tatiana Bryant singled in another run for East Central (Harding 4, East Central 2)

 
Game Two Key Statistics

-         Harding had two hits in the game coming from Hanna Jones and Amanda Fields.

-         East Central had five hits with Kaleigh Ham and Tatiana Bryant each having two.

-         Aidan Nichols got the win for Harding to improve to 4-3. She pitched five innings, gave up two earned runs and had eight strikeouts. Emma Dwyer got the save for Harding. It was her third of the season. She pitched two scoreless innings, didn't allow a hit and had one strikeout.

-         Paige Leschber received the loss for East Central and falls to 2-3 on the season.
