Harding Men's Tennis Wins 4-3 Thriller over Alabama Huntsville

Box Score SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – Harding sophomore Alvaro de Lorenzo won a third-set tiebreaker Saturday to lift the Bisons to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Alabama Huntsville at Snowden Grove Tennis Center.

The victory was Harding's fourth straight and sent the Bisons to 10-1 on the season. Alabama Huntsville, a member of the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference, fell to 3-3.

With the match tied 2-2, senior Luis Tirado rallied from a set down to win the next two sets in tiebreakers and give Harding a 3-2 advantage.

Alabama Huntsville tied the match again with a three-set victory at No. 6.

De Lorenzo's was the final match on court, and with both teams watching on, he pulled out a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 victory with the third-set tiebreaker ending 7-5.

Harding had won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 by Morgan Salvan and de Lorenzo and at No. 2 by Dani Ortiz and Arthur Bellan.

Ortiz, ranked 32nd nationally, also won his singles match in three sets at No. 2.

Harding returns to the courts Friday, March 6 at Texas A&M-Texarkana.
