Harding Men's Tennis Opens Conference Play with 7-0 Shutout of Emporia State

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding men's tennis opened GAC/MIAA conference play Tuesday with a 7-0 blanking of Emporia State. The teams played at Chartwells Tennis Center on the campus of Arkansas Tech.

Harding won its seventh straight overall to move to 13-1. The team is 8-0 in neutral site matches. Emporia State fell to 3-2.

Harding won all three doubles matches for the eighth time in 14 matches this season. Arthur Bellan and Dani Ortiz won 6-4 at No. 2 for the team's ninth consecutive doubles win.

The Bisons won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. The only three-set winner was Bellan at No. 2 where he won 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

Freshman Bryce Walker clinched the win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6.

Alvaro de Lorenzo, Ortiz and Luis Tirado all won for the seventh straight time.
