Harding Men's Tennis Wins Sixth Straight, Blanks Texas Permian Basin 7-0

DALLAS, Texas – Harding men's tennis won its sixth consecutive match with a 7-0 victory over Texas Permian Basin, a member of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference, Saturday at the Northwood Club.

Harding improved to 12-1 overall and dropped Texas Permian Basin to 5-7. The Bisons are 7-0 in neutral site matches.

Harding won all three doubles matches, highlighted by Dani Ortiz and Arthur Bellan at No. 2, who won their eighth consecutive match. The duo is 11-3 overall and 10-1 in dual matches.

Harding won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Dani Ortiz, ranked 32nd nationally, opened the scoring for the Bisons with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1. It was his sixth straight singles victory.

Luis Tirado clinched the win at No. 4, also winning for the sixth straight time and for the 40th time in his career. Alvaro de Lorenzo won in three sets at No. 5 for his team-leading 15th victory of the season.

Harding's next match is Tuesday, Mar. 10 against MIAA opponent Emporia State. The match will be played in Russellville, Arkansas.
