Harding Women's Tennis Wins 10th Straight, Longest Streak in Six Years

DALLAS, Texas – Harding women's tennis won its fourth straight shutout and its 10th straight match with a 7-0 blanking of Lone Star Conference opponent Texas Permian Basin Saturday at Northwood Club. Harding's 10-match winning streak is its longest since winning 13 straight during the 2013-14 season.

Harding improved to 13-5, and Texas Permian Basin fell to 5-5.

Harding's top doubles team of Rylie Cox Evans and Hana Folse pulled within one win of the school record for doubles victories in a season with a 6-1 triumph at No. 1. The win gave the duo a 21-5 season record.

Rachel McCrae and Ashley Nilsson won 6-2 at No. 3 for the team's fifth straight victory.

Harding won all six doubles matches in straight sets. Hana Folse's 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 was the 45th of her career. Allison Carpenter won her team-best 18th match of the season 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4.

Cox Evans's 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 was her 13th straight, and Emily Carpenter's 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 was her ninth consecutive win. McCrae won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 for her eighth straight win.

Harding's next match is Wednesday, Mar. 11 against MIAA opponent Northwest Missouri State. The match will be played at the Elliott Tennis Center in Searcy.
