Volleyball Falls to Southwestern Oklahoma Friday

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Harding volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-16) Friday at Southwestern Oklahoma in Great American Conference action.

Harding falls to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the GAC.

Southwestern Oklahoma improves to 11-6 overall and 6-2 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Trailing 11-6 in the first set, Harding went on a 14-4 run on seven kills to lead 20-15. Southwestern Oklahoma answered back with a 7-1 run on six kills to lead 22-21. The Bulldogs went on to win the set 25-23. Southwestern Oklahoma had 16 kills in the set and hit .229.

SECOND SET

Harding took a 5-3 lead in the second set until Southwestern Oklahoma went on a 6-0 run to lead 9-5. The Lady Bisons battled back to pull within three 22-19 but the Bulldogs scored three straight points to win the set 25-19.

THIRD SET

Southwestern Oklahoma took a 12-7 lead in the third set and then went on a 5-0 run to lead 17-7. The Bulldogs went on to win the set 25-16. Southwestern Oklahoma had 14 kills and hit .333 in the set. Harding had seven attack errors in the set.

-          Harding had 33 kills, 17 attack errors and hit .124.

-          Ally Stoner led the Lady Bisons with 10 kills.

-          Sarah Morehead captured a double-double with 25 assists and 11 digs.

-          Logan Smith led the defense with 14 digs. Emma Winiger also had 13 digs.

Southwestern Oklahoma

-          Southwestern Oklahoma had 42 kills, 13 attack errors and hit .227.

-          Samantha Kuzma led the Bulldogs with 11 kills.

-          Chezney Nielson captured a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.

-          Sophia DeSantiago led the defense with 16 digs.

 

UP NEXT

The Lady Bisons will be back in action Saturday when it travels to Alva, Oklahoma to take Northwestern Oklahoma at 1 p.m.
