Volleyball Sweeps Henderson State 3-0 Thursday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team defeated Henderson State 3-0 (25-18, 32-30, 25-21) Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding improves to 12-8 overall and 8-4 in the GAC.

Henderson State falls to 17-8 overall and 6-6 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Trailing 3-2 in the first set, Harding went on 5-0 run on two kills to lead 7-3. Leading 23-18, the Lady Bisons had a kill by Sarah Morehead and a Henderson State attack error to win the set 25-18. Kelli McKinnon had seven kills for Harding in the set.

SECOND SET

Trailing 20-17 in the second set, Harding went on a 5-0 run to lead 22-20. After six set points, the Lady Bisons had back-to-back kills to win the set 32-30. Harding had 21 kills in the set with Libby Hinton having five.

THIRD SET

Trailing again in the third set 13-10, Harding went on a 4-0 run on two kills to lead 14-13. Down 21-20, Harding scored the next five points on three Ally Stoner kills to win the set 25-21. The Lady Bisons had 16 kills in the set with Ally Stoner and Libby Hinton each having six.

STATS

Harding

-          Harding had 54 kills, 16 attack errors and hit .270.

-          Libby Hinton led Harding with 14 kills and she also hit .480.

-          Ally Stoner and Kelli McKinnon each had 12 kills.

-          The Lady Bisons had 62 digs led by Logan Smith who had 17. Emma Winiger also had 16 digs.

-          Harding had 13 service errors in the match.

Henderson State

-          Henderson State had 37 kills, 20 attack errors and hit .137.

-          Mya Robinson led the Reddies with 13 kills and 12 digs.

-          MaKenzie Thoman led the defense with 21 digs.

-          Henderson State had seven blocks in the match led by Brae Denton who had four.

 

UP NEXT

The Lady Bisons will be back in action next Tuesday Nov. 2, when they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Ouachita Baptist. First serve is at 6 p.m.
