Men’s Tennis Finishes ITA Regional Championships

The Harding men's tennis team competed at the ITA Central Regional Championships this weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma. Harding had eight players complete in both the singles and doubles tournaments. 
 
In the Main Draw A Singles bracket, the Bisons had seven participants. Alvaro de Lorenzo won his opening round match easily, winning 6-1, 6-0 over Newman's Jarrod Nowak before falling in the Round of 32. Morgan Salvan also won his opening round match, beating Henry Dornbusch of Augustana 6-3, 6-3. Salvan then fell in the second round in straight sets. 
 
Will Reeves and Bryce Walker both fell in his opening round match and moved to the consolation bracket where Walker reached the quarterfinals while Reeves reached the semifinals. Ricard Jove participated in the Main Draw B and won all four of his matches in straight sets. 
 
In doubles action, the Bisons had four teams in the Main Draw. Reeves teamed up with Diego Pierola to advance to the Round of 16 before falling to a team from Washburn. Salvan and de Lorenzo were ranked fourth in the tournament and defeated Sawyer Nickel and Vinnie Rodrigues of Northwest Missouri State, 8-5 to reach the Round of 16. 
 
The Bisons will now wait until the Spring to compete. Harding's first match is on February 11 at Drury in Springfield, Missouri beginning at 8 p.m.
