Harding Falls to Henderson State in GAC Action

SEARCY – Henderson State's defense forced 25 turnovers and held Harding to 35% shooting Saturday in a 71-46 victory over the Bisons in Great American Conference men's basketball action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding fell to 3-8 overall and in conference. Henderson State won its third straight road game and improved to 6-7 overall and in the GAC East.

Harding could not overcome 17 first-half turnovers and trailed 27-18 at halftime. Henderson State had it own struggles in the first half, shooting only 32%, but the Reddies had a par of 10-0 runs and closed the half on a 12-2 spurt. Harding did not have a field goal in the final 6:50 of the half.

Henderson State led by at least nine and by as many as 27 in the second half. The Reddies shot 59% in the half.

Romio Harvey led Harding in scoring with 13 points, and Ramiro Santiago added 12.

Raekwon Rogers led Henderson State with 14.

Harding's next scheduled game is Thursday against Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia.
