Southern Arkansas Defeats Harding Men's Tennis, 6-1

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - In its first match in nearly a month, the Harding men's tennis team dropped its first match of the season against 25th-ranked Southern Arkansas, 6-1, on Saturday. Sophomore Dani Ortiz secured the lone point of the match for the Bisons at No. 1 singles.
 
In doubles action, all three Bison pairings dropped their first matches of the year at identical 6-4 scores. Ortiz and Bellan's loss at No. 1 snapped an 11-match winning streak dating to last season.
 
Ortiz moved his singles win streak to 10 matches, dating to last season, with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 victory at No. 1. Morgan Salvan, Arthur Bellan, Alvaro de Lorenzo, Bryce Walker, and Milosh Petrovic all suffered their first defeats of the season. Petrovic was the only other Bison to go the distance but fell 6-2, 3-6, 7-6.
 
The Bisons will look to bounce back on Sunday Feb. 28 against Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia in a nonconference match beginning at 2 p.m.
