MONTICELLO, Ark. – The eighth-ranked Harding volleyball team swept Arkansas-Monticello 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-13) Tuesday in Great American Conference.
It is the third time in the NCAA era (since 1997) the Lady Bisons have started the season 5-0. The last time was in 2017 when Harding started 11-0.
Harding improves to 5-0 overall and 5-0 in the GAC.
Arkansas-Monticello falls to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
Trailing 12-6, Harding went on a 7-1 run on four kills to tie the set at 13. Harding trailed again 18-16 but went on a 6-1 run on six straight kills to lead 22-19. With the set tied at 24, the Lady Bisons had back-to-back kills to win the set 26-24. Harding had 19 kills in the set.
SECOND SET
Harding jumped out to a 6-1 lead on three kills in the set second. Leading 15-12, the Lady Bisons went on a 10-1 run on six kills to win the set 25-13. Harding held Arkansas-Monticello to only five kills in the set as the Blossoms hit .027.
THIRD SET
Harding continued its streak in the third set with a 4-0 start. Leading 18-12, the Lady Bisons went on a 7-1 run on four kills and two service aces to win the set 25-13. Harding had 18 kills and hit .326 in the set.

- Harding had 52 kills, 18 attack errors and hit .254 in the match.
- Logan Smith led the Harding offense with 13 kills. Ally Stoner and Libby Hinton each had nine kills.
- Sarah Morehead had 42 assists and nine digs.
- Harding had 81 digs in the three sets. Emma Winiger led the Lady Bisons with a season-high 20 digs. Katherine Cowart had 18 digs and Amber Robin tied a career-high with 12 digs.
Arkansas-Monticello
- Arkansas-Monticello had 23 kills, 12 attack errors and hit .085 in the match.
- Victoria Hamilton led the Blossoms with six kills.
- Isabelle Combs led the defense with 17 digs.
UP NEXT
Harding will be at home Thursday when it hosts Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m., in GAC action. The match was scheduled to be played Feb. 16th but due to weather the match was postponed.
