SEARCY – The ninth-ranked Harding volleyball team swept Ouachita Baptist 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) Thursday in Great American Conference.
It is the third time in the NCAA era (since 1997) the Lady Bisons have started the season 6-0. The last time was in 2017 when Harding started 11-0.
Harding improves to 6-0 overall and 6-0 in the GAC.
Ouachita Baptist falls to 2-4 overall and 2-4 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
Leading 6-5 in the first set, Harding went on an 8-3 run on five kills to lead 14-8. Leading 23-17 the Lady Bisons had a kill by Sarah Morehead and a block by Libby Hinton and Morehead to win the set 25-17. Harding had 16 kills and hit .364 in the set.
SECOND SET
Harding jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the second set and led the rest of the way as the Lady Bisons had back-to-back kills to win the set 25-16. Harding had 21 kills in the set.
THIRD SET
With the third set tied an eight, Harding went on a 5-1 run on two kills to lead 13-9. Ouachita Baptist battled back and went on a 7-1 run to lead 16-14. The Lady Bisons answered back with a 5-1 run on two kills to lead 19-17. The Tigers then went on a 5-1 run to lead 22-20. Harding scored the next five points to win the set 25-22.

- Harding had 50 kills, 16 attack errors and hit .276 in the match.
- Logan Smith led Harding with 12 kills and eight digs. Chloe Ingersoll had a career-high 11 kills for the Lady Bisons.
- Sarah Morehead had 34 assists and eight digs.
- Katherine Cowart had 17 digs to lead the Harding defense.
Ouachita Baptist
- Ouachita Baptist had 25 kills, 18 attack errors and hit .064.
- Rileigh Fielder led the Tiger offense with eight kills.
- Lexie Castillow had 16 digs to lead the defense.
