The Harding men's tennis team won the doubles point to begin the match but was only able to win two singles matches as they fell 4-3 on the road to Northwest Missouri State. The Bisons fell to 5-3 on the year while the Bearcats improved to 7-2.
The Bisons got off to a good start, winning both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to win the doubles point for the fourth straight match. Alvaro de Lorenzo and
Morgan Salvan won their fourth consecutive match at No. 1 with a 6-2 win.
Dani Ortiz and
Arthur Bellan played at tight match but won in a tiebreak by a score of 7-6(4).
De Lorenzo won his fifth straight and seventh overall singles match by a score of 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5.
Luis Tirado won his fourth match of the season 7-6, 6-3 at No. 4. The Bisons needed just one more match victory to secure the team win but fell at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 6 to finish the day. Ortiz was the only player to win a set in the four losses for the Bisons, losing 4-6, 6-3, 4-6.
The Bisons will travel to back to Missouri next Friday, March 26, in their fourth straight match in the Show Me State to take on Southwest Baptist at 12:00 p.m.
