Southwestern Oklahoma Scores Three in Second Half, Defeats Harding 3-1

SEARCY – Harding women's soccer fell 3-1 to Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday the Steven Soccer Complex in the second of six spring Great American Conference matches.

Harding is 1-1 after a 1-0 win over Ouachita Baptist Tuesday at home and Saturday's home loss. Southwestern Oklahoma improved to 3-1 in its conference matches.

All four goals Saturday came after halftime.

In the 53rd minute, a Southwestern corner kick bounced around in front of the Harding goal with Bulldog Micaela Swain tapping in a pass from Brenna McGuirk.

Harding answered in the 65th minute. Carmen Gunn stepped in front of a Southwestern clearance attempt and deflected the ball for her first goal of the season.

Swain scored the game-winner for Southwestern in the 74th minute. Her shot from the right wing after a long run hit off the back of a Harding defender and past Harding goalkeeper Bethanie Dixon.

Claire Torry scored the final goal in the 83rd minute, heading in a Brianna Benitez corner kick for her third goal.

Harding's next game is Tuesday, March 23 against Northwestern Oklahoma in Alva.
