The Harding women's tennis team won their second straight match defeating Southern Arkansas 4-1 on Thursday at the Elliott Tennis Center. The Lady Bisons improved to 8-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference while the Muleriders fell to 5-8 on the season and 3-1 in conference.
The Lady Bisons won the doubles point for the eighth time this season winning at No. 1 and No. 3.
Rylie Cox Evans and
Emily Carpenter won their seventh straight match at No. 1, winning 6-1.
Hana Folse and
Allison Carpenter secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 3. With their wins, Emily and
Allison Carpenter won their 40
th and 30
th career doubles matches, respectively.
Romane Britt continued the perfect start to her career, winning her second straight match at No. 3, 6-0, 6-3. Britt is now 10-0 in singles, dropping only two sets on the year. Cox Evans won her sixth match of the season, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1.
Allison Carpenter clinched the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 6, and improved her singles record to 6-0 on the season.
The Lady Bisons will look for their third conference win of the season when they travel to Arkadelphia to take on Henderson State on Saturday April 3 beginning at 11 a.m.
