Harding Women’s Tennis Wins Third Straight, Beat Henderson State 5-2

The Harding women's tennis team pushed their winning streak to three matches with a 5-2 win against Henderson State at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center in Arkadelphia on Saturday. The win was the sixth straight against the Reddies and the eighth straight against Great American Conference opponents, dating back to last season. 
 
The Lady Bisons improved to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in conference. The Reddies fell to 3-6 on the season and 1-3 in conference.
 
The Lady Bisons started the match by winning the doubles point for the eighth straight match with two 6-1 victories. Romane Britt and Lindy Carpenter won their fifth consecutive doubles match at No. 2 while Hana Folse and Allison Carpenter won their second consecutive at No. 3. Rylie Cox Evans and Emily Carpenter suffered their first loss as partners at No. 1, falling 6-7.
 
Folse got her sixth singles victory of the season at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Allison Carpenter won her 40th career singles match and moved her record to 7-0 on the year with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6. Britt clinched the match at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-3 win. Britt is now 11-0 in her freshman campaign. Cox Evans won the fifth and final point for the Lady Bisons with a 6-7, 6-1, 1-0 victory, winning 10-7 in the match tiebreaker.
 
The Lady Bisons will look for their 10th win of the season on April 8 when they host Blue Mountain College at the Elliott Tennis Center beginning at 2 p.m.
