Women’s Golf Tied for Sixth in After Two Days in Florida

The Harding women's golf team opened the Golfweek D2 Fall Invitational on Sunday with a 25-over 309 and shot a 28-over 312 on Monday and is tied for sixth with Nebraska-Kearney at 53-over 621. Nova Southeastern leads the tournament with a 13-over 581.

Freshman Pilar Martinez, started the tournament with her career low, shooting a 1-under 70 on Sunday before following it up with a 9-over 80 on Monday. Martinez has made six birdies through the first two rounds and currently sits tied for 13th.

Brenda Sanchez shot an identical 6-over 77 in both rounds to finish the day tied for 21st at 12-over 154. Alicia Martinez began the tournament with a 9-over 80 on Sunday before coming back and shooting a 6-over 77 on Monday to be tied for 31st at 15-over 157.

Kodie Winnings also improved on her first day score on Monday. Winnings shot an 11-over 82 in Round 1 before shooting a 7-over 78 in Round 2 and is tied for 36th. Madeleine Wilson shot a 2-over 163 over the first two rounds and is tied for 44th.

The Lady Bisons will look for another top-5 finish on Tuesday when they tee off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
