Grace Dodd upset the No. 43 ranked singles player in Division II but it wasn't enough as the Harding women's tennis team lost a tight match to Drury 4-3 on Friday night in Springfield, Missouri. Harding falls to 1-1 on the season while Drury improves to 1-0.

The Lady Bisons fell behind after the doubles competition, dropping both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, 6-2.
Romane Britt and
Lindy Carpenter picked up their second straight victory as a pair with a 6-4 win at the No. 3 line.

Drury took the first singles match at No. 2 and led the match 2-0 before Dodd picked up the first point of the match for the Lady Bisons. The No. 12 ranked singles player in the Central Region, Dodd won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1.
Allison Carpenter leveled the match at 2-2 with a tight straight set win at No. 5, winning 7-6, 6-4.

After a loss at No. 3 for the Lady Bisons, Britt won her fifth straight match 6-2, 7-6 at No. 4. With the match tied at 3-3, Drury secured the match with a tight three sets win at No. 6.

The Lady Bisons will return to the court on Saturday February 12, against Nebraska-Kearney in Springfield beginning at 1 p.m.
