The Harding men's tennis team pushed their winning streak to five with a 7-0 win over Dallas Baptist on Saturday morning in Arlington. The Bisons dropped just one set in the entire match. Harding improves to 5-0 on the year while DBU fell to 3-5.
The Bisons are now 8-0 all-time against DBU, dating back to 2003.
The Bisons won all three doubles matches for the third time this season to take the early 1-0 lead.
Diego Pierola and
Bryce Walker played doubles for the first time in a dual match this season and won at No. 3, 6-2. Alvaro de Lorenzo and
Morgan Salvan won at No. 1, 6-2.
Dani Ortiz and
Arthur Bellan needed a tiebreaker but eventually completed the doubles sweep with a 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 2.
Ortiz won the first singles match of the day at the No. 1 line, winning 6-2, 6-3.
Cas de Ruiter won his first singles match of the season 6-1, 7-5 at No. 5. Petrovic won his fourth straight match 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6. Petrovic has yet to drop a set in singles action this season.
Bellan won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2. Walker secured his fifth straight match of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4. De Lorenzo dropped the first set of his match but came back to win the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3.
The Bisons will play one more match this weekend against Collin College on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
