Harding Wins Big over UAM on Senior Night

SEARCY – Harding scored the first 11 points Thursday on Senior Night against Arkansas-Monticello and never looked back in a 70-42 victory over the Blossoms in Great American Conference play at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

With the victory, Harding moved to 18-8 overall and 14-7 in conference games. With a win by second-place Southern Nazarene over Northwestern Oklahoma, Harding remained in third place in the conference standings. The Lady Bisons travel to Henderson State Saturday for the regular season finale.

Arkansas-Monticello fell to 0-27 overall and 0-21 in conference games. The Blossoms end their season Saturday at home against Ouachita Baptist.

Harding led 21-11 after the first quarter. The Lady Bisons made 8 of 12 shots inside the arc and had a 12-2 points-in-the-paint advantage.

Harding scored the first six points of the second quarter on a pair of Jordan Elder 3-pointers, and the Lady Bisons pulled away to lead 43-22 at halftime. The Lady Bisons outscored the Blossoms 17-0 off turnovers in the first half.

Harding limited the Blossoms to only 21% shooting in the third quarter and extended its lead to 56-32 entering the fourth.

Elder and Sage Hawley led Harding with 14 points each. Hawley had a team-high 11 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season.

Chaney Scott led Arkansas-Monticello with 10.

Harding honored seniors Jasmine Barnes, Hannah Collins, Jordan Elder, Brooke Bradley and Katelyn Burtch in a postgame ceremony.
