The Harding men's tennis team won their home opener on Sunday at the Elliott Tennis Complex 6-1 against Missouri-St. Louis. Harding improved to 7-1 on the year and Missouri-St. Louis falls to 0-3.
The Bisons swept the doubles action with three close victories.
Dani Ortiz and
Arthur Bellan continued their winning streak, pushing it to seven matches, with a 6-4 victory at No. 2. Alvaro de Lorenzo and
Morgan Salvan clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 win at No. 1.
Milosh Petrovic and
Cas de Ruiter also won 7-6 at No. 3.
Ortiz won his fifth straight singles match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1. Bellan won at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Petrovic won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 for his sixth match of the season and clinched the match for the Bisons. Salvan won in a tiebreaker at No. 3, 6-1, 3-6, 10-4. De Lorenzo won the final match for the Bisons with a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 4.
The Bisons will return to action on Wednesday March 9 when they host Northwest Missouri State beginning at 1 p.m.
