The Harding women's tennis team won the first of seven consecutive home matches on Wednesday, defeating Northwest Missouri State 4-0. The Lady Bisons have now won four in a row and improved to 7-3 on the year while the Bearcats fell to 5-2.
Harding jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after doubles action.
Romane Britt and
Lindy Carpenter combined for their sixth win of the season as a pair and won 6-3 at No. 2.
Emily Carpenter and
Allison Jenkins clinched the point with a 6-3 win at No. 3. The Lady Bisons have now won the doubles point in three straight matches.
Lindy Carpenter pushed the Lady Bisons lead to 2-0 with her sixth straight singles victory with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5.
Lindy Carpenter is now 5-0 on the year at No. 5.
Emily Carpenter won her fifth straight singles match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 4. Britt clinched the win for the Lady Bisons with her team-leading 14
th singles victory, a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3.
The Lady Bisons will play again Thursday (March 10) afternoon when they host Arkansas Tech at 2 p.m. in a non-conference matchup.
