The No. 36 Harding women's tennis team defeated Southern Arkansas 5-1 on Monday (April 11) for their third straight win over the Muleriders and fifth straight win overall. Harding is now 32-3 all time against Southern Arkansas and 14-1 in Magnolia versus the Muleriders. The Lady Bisons improved to 15-4 overall and 3-0 in GAC play while the Muleriders fell to 3-15 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
 
No. 42-ranked Allison Carpenter and Grace Dodd got the doubles action started with a 6-2 win at No. 1. After the Muleriders took the match at No. 2 in a tiebreaker, Emily Carpenter and Allison Jenkins battled and went to a tiebreaker before eventually clinching the doubles point for the Lady Bisons with a 7-6 (7-1) win at No. 3.
 
Lina Romero won the first singles match of the day for her 11^th win of the season 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 to move the match score to 2-0. After a lightning delay, the Muleriders scored their first and only point of the match at No. 1 singles.
 
Emily Carpenter dropped the first set at No. 4 but fought her way back to secure her sixth straight victory, taking it 4-6, 6-0, 6-4. Britt won her 21^st match of the season after also dropping the first set of her match, coming back to win 1-6, 6-4, 7-5. Lindy Carpenter easily secured the match for the Lady Bisons with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5.
 
The Lady Bisons will return home on Thursday (April 14) to take on No. 37 Southeastern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. in a battle of the top two teams in the GAC.
