Harding and Southern Nazarene Play to 0-0 Tie

SEARCY – There were few scoring chances to be had Saturday as Harding and Southern Nazarene played to a 0-0 tie in GAC/MIAA men's soccer action at the Stevens Soccer Field.

With the tie, Harding moved to 0-6-1 overall and 0-1-1 in conference play. The Bisons will be on the road next weekend, taking on Newman on Thursday in Wichita, Kansas, and Fort Hays State on Saturday in Hays, Kansas.

Southern Nazarene (3-3-2, 1-0-1) outshot Harding 12-7 and had the only two shots on goal in the game.

Harding's best scoring opportunity came in the 25th minute. Stefano Silva's header deflected off the crossbar to Andrew Wagner, whose shot bounced off a defender for a corner kick.

Harding goalkeeper Jared Nitz made two saves for his first shutout of the season and the second of his career.

The Bisons played two 0-0 ties on the road last season. Harding's last 0-0 tie at home was against Mississippi College on Sept. 13, 2019.
