Harding Volleyball Dominates Henderson State in Straight Sets

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team defeated Henderson State 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-22) Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding improves to 15-9 overall and 10-2 in the GAC. With the win Lady Bisons stay in first place in the GAC standings.

Henderson State falls to 16-9 overall and 7-5 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Tied at three in the first set, Harding went on a 12-1 run on five kills to lead 15-4. Henderson State didn't get any closer than eight the rest of the way as the Lady Bisons won the set 25-15. Harding had 15 kills and hit .351 in the set.

SECOND SET

Tied again at three in the second set, Harding went on a 5-1 run on three kills to lead 8-4. Leading 14-8, the Lady Bisons went on a 11-0 run to win the set 25-8. Harding held Henderson State to three kills in the set.

THIRD SET

Trailing 8-5 in the third set, Henderson State went on a 4-0 run to lead 9-8. Tied at 21, Harding won four of the last five points to win the set 25-22. Harding had 13 kills as each team had six attack errors in the set.

-          Harding had 42 kills, 12 attack errors and hit .294 in the match.

-          Skyler McKinnon and Jacey Lambert each had 10 kills to lead the Lady Bisons.

-          Harding had 49 digs in the match with three players having double-figure digs. Chloe Ingersoll led the Lady Bisons with 14 digs. Avery Hall had 11 digs and Emma Winiger had 10 digs.

Henderson State

-          Henderson State had 22 kills, 15 attack errors and hit .074 in the match.

-          Violeta Mendoza Quintana led the Reddies with eight kills. She also led the defense with eight digs.

UP NEXT

Harding will be back in action next Tuesday when it travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m.
