Harding Volleyball Falls at Ouachita Baptist Tuesday

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team fell to Ouachita Baptist 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) Tuesday in Great American Conference action.

Harding falls to 15-10 overall and 10-3 in the GAC.

Ouachita Baptist improves to 15-13 overall and 7-6 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Ouachita Baptist jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first set on five kills and didn't look back as the Tigers won the set 25-17.  Ouachita Baptist had 15 kills in the set and hit .333.

SECOND SET

Trailing 4-2 in the second set, Harding went on a 6-3 run to take an 8-7 lead. Leading 16-15, Ouachita Baptist went on an 8-1 run on four kills to take a 24-16 lead. After two Harding points, the Tigers won the set 25-18 on a Harding service error. Ouachita Baptist had 15 kills in the set and held Harding to seven.

THIRD SET

Tied 6-6 in the third set, Ouachita Baptist went on a 9-3 run to lead 15-9. Harding battled back to cut the lead to two, 23-21 but the Tigers had back-to-back kills to win the set 25-21. The Lady Bisons had 14 kills and eight attack errors in the set.

-          Harding had 30 kills, 20 attack errors and hit .081 in the match.

-          Logan Smith-Morgan and Skyler McKinnon led the Lady Bisons with six kills.

-          Harding had 54 digs in the match with Smith-Morgan leading the way with 13. Avery Hall and Emma Winiger each had 10 digs.

Ouachita Baptist

-          Ouachita Baptist had 40 kills, 16 attack errors and hit .197 in the match.

-          Courtney Hanson captured a double-double for the Tigers with 30 assists and 13 digs.

-          Ouachita Baptist had 65 digs in the match and were led by Avery Jauz who had 17.

UP NEXT

Harding will be back in action Thursday when it hosts Arkansas Tech at 6 p.m., at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
