Bisons Open Home Slate; Sink Baptist Bible 102-86

SEARCY – The shots just kept on falling for Harding men's basketball Tuesday in a 102-86 victory over Baptist Bible at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House, the first win for Bison first-year head coach Weston Jameson and his staff.

Harding erased a six-point Baptist Bible lead with 5:02 left in the first half by connecting on eight straight shots and 10 of 11 to close the first half with a 59-49 advantage. Harding shot 61.9% in the half and outscored Baptist Bible 21-5 over the final five minutes.

The Bisons improved to 1-2 on the season with their next four games on the road. Baptist Bible, a team affiliated with the National Christian College Athletics Association, located in Springfield, Missouri, fell to 2-4.

After taking the 10-point lead into halftime, Harding maintained at least a nine-point lead throughout the second half. A 19-4 Harding run that began midway through the second half pushed the Bisons' lead to a game-high 24 points.

The 100th point of the game came on a free throw from Keyln McBride with 1:06 left in the game.

Stetson Smithson and Sam Smith both scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds each to lead Harding. McBride had 14 points and a team-high eight assists. Brahm Harris finished with 12 points, and Abou Gbane and Rylie Marshall both scored 10 points.
