Quick Start Leads Harding to Big Win over Christian Brothers

SEARCY – Harding scored 15 straight points early in the first quarter, and the game was never close as the Lady Bisons defeated Christian Brothers 84-58 on Friday afternoon in nonconference women's basketball action at Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding improved to 2-1 overall and dropped Christian Brothers to 0-3.

Harding led 23-8 after one quarter, shooting 9-of-16 (56.3%) in the period. The Lady Bisons extended their lead to 47-25 at halftime and led by 29 after three quarters.

Hawley led Harding with 21 points and 10 rebounds, her third double-double of the season and 42nd of her career. Rory Geer added 11 points, hitting all seven of her free-throw attempts. Harley Harbour and Katelyn Kabrich added 10 points each.

Harding shot 49.2% from the field and made 23 of 28 free throws.

TEAM NOTES
  • Harding's win was its 13th straight at home, fourth-longest in program history.
  • Harding's 84 points scored were a season high ... the Lady Bisons also set season highs with 30 field goals made, 23 free throws made, 17 assists and eight steals.
  • Harding had 12 different players score in the game and 11 different players had at least one rebound.
