Harding Women's Basketball Opens 2023-24 Season in Kansas

SEARCY - Harding women's basketball, the preseason No. 2 pick by the Great American Conference head coaches, opens its season Friday at the MIAA-GAC Challenge, hosted by Emporia State in Emporia, Kansas. Tim Kirby will be in his 19th season as Harding's women's basketball coach. 

Harding opens its season Friday at 1 p.m. against Missouri Southern State of the MIAA. The Lady Bisons hold a 5-1 advantage in the series, but Missouri Southern won 68-66 last season in Searcy. Sage Hawley led Harding with 17 points and eight rebounds in that game.

Harding continues at the MIAA-GAC Challenge on Saturday against host Emporia State. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. The two teams have split four games in the series with Emporia State winning 58-57 last season. Hawley led HU with 21 points and 21 rebounds, and Kendrick Bailey added 15 points.
