Harding Women's Track Posts Three Provisionals in Two Meets

SEARCY – Harding women's track and field was in action in two meets this weekend—the Ole Miss Classic in Oxford, Mississippi, and the Dan Veach Invitational in Magnolia, Arkansas.

At the Ole Miss Classic, Harding posted three NCAA provisional marks. Junior Sierra White won the pole vault by clearing 3.93 meters or 12 feet, 10.75 inches. Senior Sarah Gautreaux also had a provisional in the pole vault by clearing 3.78 meters or 12 feet, 4.75 inches. The third provisional came from Anna Kay Clark in the javelin. She placed second with a mark of 42.67 meters or 140 feet.

Harding had three other top-5 finishes at the Ole Miss Classic. Junior Lisa Retailleau was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1 minute, 2.40 seconds. Freshman Karyna Vehner placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.79 meters or 38 feet, 8.25 inches, and senior Jenna Akins placed fifth in the long jump, landing at 5.59 meters or 18 feet, 4.25 inches.

The Lady Bisons turned in six top-3 finishes at the Dan Veach Invitational. In the running events, junior Kylie Hall placed second in the 400 meters in 1:02.79, freshman Noelle King was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:26.98, and Harding's 4x400-meter relay team of Hall, Miah Maples, Nizhoni Thompson and Astryd Marcum placed third in 4:25.69.

Senior Cooper Monn had three top-3 finishes in the field events. She was second in the discus (38.22m, 125-5) and third in the shot put (11.72m, 38-05.50) and in the hammer (41.27m, 135-5).

Next week, Harding will be in action at three events—the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, the Texas State Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, and the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Missouri.
