Tetiana Kharashchuk and Cadence Sansom Named GAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the final GAC women's track & field athletes of the week for the 2026 outdoor season. Harding swept the awards as Tetiana Kharashchuk captured the track honor and Cadence Sansom earned the field accolade.

At the John McDonnell Invitational, Kharashchuk broke a 12-year-old school record in the 800-meter run after she posted a time of 2:09.52 and finished second. Her time ranks 28th nationally. She anchored the school record-breaking 4x100 meter relay run that finished sixth in 45.54 seconds. The team's time ranks 17th nationally.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Cadence Sansom, Sr., Harding, Lago Vista, Texas
Sansom cleared 4.12 meters in the pole vault at the John McDonnell Invitational to break the four-year-old school record. She finished second overall in a field that featured five Division I competitors. Her clearance ranks first in the GAC and seventh in Division II. She ranks as the only GAC female pole vaulter to have cleared 4.00 meters.
