RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Rylie Marshall scored a team-high 18 points, but Harding suffered a 91-57 loss to Arkansas Tech on Thursday in Great American Conference men's basketball action at Tucker Coliseum.
With the loss, Harding dropped to 7-10 overall and 4-7 in conference play. Tech moved to 13-4 overall and remained in first place in the GAC at 9-2.
Marshall scored 13 of Harding's 23 points in the first half, connecting on 5-of-10 from the field and hitting three 3-pointers. Five of the Bisons' eight field goals in the half were 3-pointers. Keyln McBride had the other two.
Marshall shot 6-of-11 for the game.
Wyatt Gilbert added a career-high 14 points for the Bisons, connecting on 4-of-7 shots, including two 3-pointers.
Arkansas Tech did not make every shot it took in the first half … it just felt like it. The Wonder Boys shot 52.9% from the field and made six 3-pointers.
Harding trailed 17-12 with 13:18 left as McBride hit his second 3-pointer. Tech went on a 14-1 run over the next five minutes and led 31-13 at the 6:41 mark. A 3-pointer from the right wing at the buzzer gave the Wonder Boys a 46-23 halftime lead.
Tech led by as many as 41 points in the second half.
Harding's next action is Saturday at home against Ouachita Baptist. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
