Lady Bisons Suffer First GAC Loss in Sweep by Savage Storm

DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma snapped Harding's seven-match winning streak, handing the Lady Bisons their first conference loss of the season with a 3-0 sweep on Friday.

The Savage Storm (7-9, 3-3 conference) won 25-23, 25-23, 25-18 at Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

Harding is now one of three teams in the GAC with one conference loss.

D'Nari Mills led Southeastern Oklahoma with 12 kills, while Skyler McKinnon paced Harding (12-6, 5-1 conference) with 12 kills. Ruthie Forson recorded 35 assists and 10 kills for the Savage Storm.

Southeastern Oklahoma outkilled Harding 52-40 and outdug the Lady Bisons 86-82. Patience Lewis had 26 digs, and Faith Kruebbe added 13 digs and 10 kills for the Savage Storm.

Tatum Fouche led Harding with 28 digs, and Maegan Lacy added 12 digs. Olivia Wiedower recorded 19 assists for the Lady Bisons.

First Set:
Southeastern Oklahoma took the opening set 25-23, despite Harding's late surge. The Savage Storm's D'Nari Mills had five kills in the set, while Skyler McKinnon led Harding with six kills. Southeastern Oklahoma's Faith Kruebbe served two aces to help her team pull away.

Second Set:
Southeastern Oklahoma claimed the second set 25-23, fending off a fierce Harding rally. The Lady Bisons' Skyler McKinnon had seven kills in the set, but Southeastern Oklahoma's Ruthie Forson countered with six kills and 12 assists. Patience Lewis's ace helped the Savage Storm seal the set.

Third Set:
Southeastern Oklahoma completed the sweep with a 25-18 victory in the third set. D'Nari Mills and Noelia Rocha each had five kills for the Savage Storm, while Skyler McKinnon led Harding with six kills. The Lady Bisons struggled with errors, committing 10 attack errors in the set.
 
Harding's next is Saturday at 2 p.m. at East Central in Ada, Oklahoma.
