Lady Bisons Bounce Back: Harding Sweeps East Central 3-0

ADA, Okla. — Harding volleyball rebounded from its first Great American Conference loss of the season with a convincing 3-0 sweep over East Central on Saturday.

The Lady Bisons (13-6, 6-1 GAC) dominated the Tigers (11-8, 5-2 GAC) 25-21, 25-13, 25-22 at the Kerr Activities Center.

With the win, Harding moved into a tie with Southwestern Oklahoma for first place in the conference standings.

Skyler McKinnon led Harding with 10 kills, while Delaney Garner added nine on a .500 hitting percentage. Ashley Lamkin chipped in seven kills on a .385 clip. Olivia Wiedower recorded 32 assists and Tatum Fouche had 18 digs.

Emma Strickland paced East Central with 14 kills and 10 digs, but struggled with six errors. Odalys Gonzalez added 10 kills.

Harding out-hit East Central .259 to .176.

Harding returns to action Thursday, Oct. 17. The Lady Bisons will host Southwestern Oklahoma at 6 p.m. with first place in the conference standings on the line.

First Set: Harding 25, East Central 21
Harding rallied from an early 5-2 deficit to take the first set. The Lady Bisons tied the score at 11-11 on an ace by Olivia Wiedower and never trailed again. Delaney Garner had five kills in the set, while Emma Strickland led East Central with seven kills.

Second Set: Harding 25, East Central 13
Harding dominated the second set, racing out to a 10-4 lead. The Lady Bisons' Ashley Lamkin and Jacey Lambert each had four kills in the set, while East Central struggled with seven attack errors. Harding's Maegan Lacy served an ace to cap a 6-0 run that put the set out of reach.

Third Set: Harding 25, East Central 22
The third set was tightly contested, with 15 ties and seven lead changes. East Central took an early 6-2 lead, but Harding fought back to tie the score at 11-11. The Lady Bisons took the lead for good on a block by Jacey Lambert and Ashley Lamkin, and Skyler McKinnon sealed the win with her 10th kill of the match.
