SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding Bisons men's soccer team fell 5-1 to Fort Hays St. on Saturday at Stevens Soccer Complex.
Lesego Maloma scored Harding's (0-8-3, 0-5-0) lone goal on a penalty kick in the 18th minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
However, Fort Hays St. (6-3-1, 3-2-0) responded with three more goals to pull away. Fabian Gylden Svensson, Lucas Garay, Tadhg Walsh, Collin Hershberger, and Siem Duijs each scored for the Tigers.
Marcos German assisted on two Fort Hays St. goals, while Wouter Van der Borch made three saves in 80:45 minutes of action for the Tigers.
Aitor Scholl led Harding with five shots, three on goal. Maloma added two shots, one on goal.
Fort Hays St. outshot Harding 28-13, including a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks. Harding goalkeeper Inigo Chavarria made six saves in the loss.
