Harding's Ty Dugger Earns GAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

SEARCY, Ark. – Harding University's Ty Dugger has been named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the Bisons' 62-0 shutout victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Dugger, a junior defensive back from Searcy, Arkansas, returned an interception 83 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, marking the second time this season he has taken an INT back for a score. He became just the fourth player in Harding history to achieve this feat in a single season.

In addition to his pick-six, Dugger added 1.5 tackles-for-loss, contributing to Harding's third shutout of the season.

This recognition marks Dugger's second GAC Defensive Player of the Week award this season.

Andrew Miller, a fullback, and Magnus Lepak, a kicker, were also nominated for GAC Player of the Week honors.

The No. 1-ranked Bisons will look to continue their momentum this Saturday, October 19, when they face off against Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
