Bisons' Meli Breaks Own GAC Record, Earns Runner of the Week Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding's Josphat Meli has been named the Great American Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the sixth week of the 2024 season.

Meli, a freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, dominated the 8K race at the UAH Chargers XC Invitational, claiming his second individual title of the season with a time of 23:17.8. He outpaced his nearest competitor by more than 13 seconds and shattered his own GAC record by nearly 16 seconds.

The Harding men's team placed seventh in the highly competitive 35-team event.

Additionally, Harding's Josie Parks was nominated for Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.
