Southern Nazarene Edges Harding 1-0 in Tight GAC Matchup

BETHANY, Okla. — Camdyn Wood's early goal lifted Southern Nazarene to a 1-0 victory over Harding in a Great American Conference women's soccer matchup on Wednesday.

Wood scored at the 7:27 mark, with Ella Adams providing the assist, and the Southern Nazarene defense made it stand, shutting out Harding.

Southern Nazarene (6-4-3, 4-2-2 GAC) outshot Harding 12-7 overall and 4-3 on goal, with Harding's best chances coming from Skylar Henley, Georgia Templeton, and Kendall Jerkins, with Bailey Bulliner hitting the crossbar with a shot in the game's final 10 minutes.

Harding (5-6-1, 4-2-1 GAC) had its four-game winning streak snapped and was shut out for the sixth time this season. Despite the loss, the Lady Bisons' defense has allowed no more than one goal in 10 consecutive games.

The loss dropped Harding to third place in the GAC standings, one point behind Southern Nazarene and Ouachita Baptist.

Harding returns home to face Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Stevens Soccer Complex in Searcy, Arkansas.
