Harding Falls Short: Oklahoma Baptist Wins 1-0 in GAC Matchup

SEARCY, Ark. — Sophie Jordan's 68th-minute goal lifted Oklahoma Baptist to a 1-0 victory over Harding in a Great American Conference women's soccer matchup on Saturday at Stevens Soccer Complex.

Jordan capitalized on a loose ball after Harding goalkeeper Maysa Willis saved an initial shot from Sam Sheffield, securing the win for the visiting Bison.

Despite outshooting Oklahoma Baptist 15-11, Harding was unable to find the back of the net. Oklahoma Baptist held a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Harding's best chances came in the final 20 minutes, with shots from Whitney Thomas, Kloey Fullerton, and Regan Thompson all being saved or blocked.

With the loss, Harding moves to 5-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play. Oklahoma Baptist improves to 5-6-3 overall and 4-3-2 in the GAC, notching its first road win of the season.

Harding begins a three-game road trip Thursday against Northwestern Oklahoma in Alva, Oklahoma.
