SEARCY, Ark. — Unaiz Shajani's hat trick propelled Southern Nazarene to a 3-0 shutout victory over Harding on Thursday at Stevens Soccer Complex.
Shajani scored in the 23rd, 40th and 66th minutes, with Axel Agurcia assisting on the second goal. Andrej Krivokapic made six saves for the Crimson Storm (5-3-1, 2-1-0 GAC).
Harding (0-6-2, 0-3-0 GAC) was held scoreless for the first time this season.
Inigo Chavarria stopped five shots for the Bisons.
Southern Nazarene dominated the first half, outshooting Harding 11-1 and earning eight corner kicks. Shajani's first goal came on a steal off a back pass in the 23rd minute. He doubled the lead in the 40th minute, receiving a long ball from Agurcia and scoring from the right side of the 18-yard box.
In the second half, Harding generated more scoring opportunities, outshooting Southern Nazarene 8-2. However, Krivokapic made crucial saves to secure the shutout. Shajani sealed the win with his third goal in the 66th minute.
The Bisons continue their search for their first win of the season Sunday, when they host Delta State in their final nonconference game of the season. The action begins at Stevens Soccer Complex at 2 p.m.
