Harding Volleyball Secures Key Road Win at Arkansas-Monticello

MONTICELLO, Ark. — Harding University's volleyball team extended its winning streak to seven matches with a 3-1 victory over Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday.

The Lady Bisons (12-5, 5-0 Great American Conference) dominated the Blossoms (4-11, 0-5) in the first two sets, 25-16 and 25-11. After a 25-20 loss in the third set, Harding bounced back with a decisive 25-13 win in the fourth.

Maegan Lacy led Harding with 13 kills, while Skyler McKinnon added 15 kills and two blocks. Jacey Lambert contributed eight kills, and Delaney Garner chipped in six kills.

As a team, Harding hit .265 with 55 kills, while Arkansas-Monticello managed just .089 with 45 kills.

Olivia Wiedower dished out 42 assists for the Lady Bisons, and Carter Fouche led the team with 17 digs.

Holiday Ellis paced Arkansas-Monticello with 16 kills.

 

Set 1

Harding took the first set 25-16 against Arkansas-Monticello, dominating the latter half of the set.

The set was closely contested early, with 12 ties and four lead changes. However, Harding pulled away with a 13-4 run to close out the set.

Maegan Lacy and Skyler McKinnon led the Lady Bisons with four kills each in the set, while Olivia Wiedower contributed 13 assists.

Arkansas-Monticello's Holiday Ellis and Jasmine Welton each had four kills in the set.

Harding's strong offense (.238 hitting percentage) and timely blocks (three total) helped secure the set victory.

Set 2

Harding dominated the second set 25-11, taking a 2-0 lead in the match against Arkansas-Monticello.

The Lady Bisons jumped out to a 7-1 lead, fueled by three consecutive errors from the Blossoms and strong serving from Tatum Fouche.

Arkansas-Monticello struggled with errors, committing 11 attack errors and three blocking errors in the set.

Harding's Jacey Lambert and Delaney Garner each had four kills in the set, while Olivia Wiedower added 12 assists.

Skyler McKinnon contributed five kills, and Maegan Lacy chipped in four kills.

The Lady Bisons' strong offense (.265 hitting percentage) and stifling defense (four blocks) limited Arkansas-Monticello's scoring opportunities.

The Blossoms' Holiday Ellis had four kills in the set, but it wasn't enough to overcome the team's overall struggles.

Set 3

Arkansas-Monticello avoided a sweep by winning the third set 25-20.

The Blossoms took an early 4-1 lead, fueled by errors from Harding.

Harding tied the set at 8-8, but Arkansas-Monticello pulled away with a 7-2 run, capped by consecutive kills from Holiday Ellis.

The Lady Bisons narrowed the gap to 18-17, but the Blossoms responded with a 7-3 run to close out the set.

Holiday Ellis led Arkansas-Monticello with eight kills in the set, while Smalls, Mia added 14 assists.

Harding's Skyler McKinnon had six kills in the set, and Olivia Wiedower contributed 13 assists.

Arkansas-Monticello's strong offense (.250 hitting percentage) and timely blocks (three total) helped secure the set victory.

Set 4

Harding closed out the match with a convincing 25-13 win in the fourth set.

The Lady Bisons dominated from the start, taking a 10-4 lead behind strong serving from Olivia Wiedower and Carter Fouche.

Arkansas-Monticello struggled with errors, committing 11 attack errors and four blocking errors in the set.

Harding's Skyler McKinnon and Delaney Garner each had five kills in the set, while Olivia Wiedower added 12 assists.

Jacey Lambert contributed four kills, and Maegan Lacy chipped in four kills.

The Lady Bisons' strong offense (.311 hitting percentage) and stifling defense (four blocks) limited Arkansas-Monticello's scoring opportunities.
