Harding Lady Bisons Climb to No. 6 in WBCA Poll with Key Victories

SEARCY – Harding's ascent in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll continued this week with two significant victories, including an impressive win over No. 5 Southern Nazarene, propelling the Lady Bisons to No. 6 in the rankings. Harding's No. 6 ranking represents the highest the Lady Bisons have been in an in-season ranking since landing at No. 2 in the March 4, 2014 poll.

Harding secured a decisive 61-44 victory over Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday in Searcy, with Sage Hawley leading the charge for HU with 23 points, while Rory Geer contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds.

In a highly anticipated matchup in Division II basketball over the weekend, Harding triumphed over previously undefeated Southern Nazarene with a commanding 77-57 victory at home. Geer showcased her talent with a career-high 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Harding's precision at the free-throw line, making 18-of-20 shots, sealed the win.

With these triumphs, Harding's overall record stands at 20-2, with an impressive 15-1 record in the Great American Conference.

This marks Harding's second consecutive 20-win season, the seventh under the leadership of head coach Tim Kirby, and the 12th in program history.

Looking ahead, Harding is set to face two in-state rivals this week. The Lady Bisons will host Arkansas Tech at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House on Thursday and then hit the road to take on Southern Arkansas in Magnolia on Saturday.
