Box Score 2 The Harding men's tennis team split matches this weekend in Texas, taking down MSU Denver 5-1 on Saturday after falling to Lubbock Christian 5-2 on Friday. The Bisons are 3-3 on the season with three more victories over Junior College opponents.
The Bisons started Saturday by dropping the doubles point. The Roadrunners took victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 lines to secure their only point of the match.
The Bisons took hold the match by winning all five of the completed singles matches. Cas De Ruiter, Dani Ortiz, Luis Agullo, and Caleb Folse all grabbed straight sets victories at No. 1, 2, 3, and 5 respectively. Jaydon Van Vreden was pushed to three sets before winning his singles match at No. 6
On Friday, Lubbock Christian escaped with the doubles point winning 7-6 at No. 2 and 7-5 at No. 3. De Ruiter and Cian Mikkelsen grabbed the only doubles victory on the weekend for the Bisons winning 6-4 at No. 1.
Teodor Zlatar leveled the match at 1-1 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles. The Chaps went up 3-2 with victories at No. 2 and No. 6 before de Ruiter picked up the victory at No. 1 winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. The Chaps took the final two matches to put the final score at 5-2.
The Bisons will return to action on Thursday as they play host to Arkansas Fort Smith at the Elliott Tennis Complex at 1 p.m.
