Harding's Butch Gardner Inducted into Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame

SEARCY – Congratulations to Harding's Butch Gardner, who was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Friday, April 19, at the Wally Allen Ballroom in the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Over his four-year career from 1973 to 1977, Gardner earned All-Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference honors four times and was selected as an All-American three times. Gardner still holds the school record with 2,255 career points, has had his #20 jersey retired and hung in the rafters of the Rhodes-Reaves Field House, and was inducted into the Harding Athletics Hall of Fame in 1989.

Gardner's induction sees him join the ranks of other esteemed Harding athletes and coaches who have been previously inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, including Bernie Cox (2006), Ted Lloyd (2007), John Prock (2008), and Preacher Roe (1967).
