The Harding women's tennis team won the first four matches over McKendree at the Elliott Tennis Complex to grab the early victory 5-2 on Wednesday. Harding improves to 8-4 on the season with three additional wins over junior colleges while McKendree falls to 3-7.
Romane Britt and Itza Rogel paired up for the first time this season and picked up the first win of the day with a 6-2 victory at No. 1. Georgia Plunkett and Reka Pecsi clinched the doubles point with their fifth straight win, winning 6-4 at No. 3.
Britt picked up the second point for the Lady Bisons, winning 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4. Karli Roux battled her way to a hard-fought three-set come from behind win, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz clinched the match for Harding, picking up her team leading 12th win along the way, with a 6-3, 7-6 victory at No. 3. Natalia Alveraz picked up the last Lady Bison victory of the day with a 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 win at No. 6.
The Lady Bisons will face No. 50 Drury on Sunday March 24 at the Elliott Tennis complex beginning at 1 p.m.
